NaNoWriMo Spreadsheets

Cameron Mathews has some helpful spreadsheets for NaNoWriMo participants. They include a daily report card, a character creator, and an outline helper. Worth checking out!

The Legend of Kao Pao

I've worked on the plot, but not an outline. I know how the novel will start, and how it will end. I have some great ideas for the middle. I'm not sure I want to do a full outline since I wrote the first two manuscripts in this series without one, and winging it can be fun.

Plotting

This week I'll be doing the outline marathon with Forward Motion. The working title for my new NaNoWriMo novel is The Legend of Kao Pao. It is the third in a series of middle grade novels. Kao Pao is the name of the deity, sort of like Jesus, in a civilization so ancient that nobody on earth still remembers it. Except me, of course.

Unfortunately I don't have a plot for this novel yet, and before I do the outline I must create one, so that's my first project this week.

NaNoWriMo 2006

NaNoWriMo 2006I signed up to write another novel with the NaNoWriMo crowd again this year. This will be my 6th NaNoWriMo.

I am hoping for the best but realistically am not sure this will work for me because I have a new boyfriend, Bob, who is using up most of my time and attention. However he may be going back to work soon (as a long distance truck driver) so if he does I'll have lots of time on my hands and the writing will keep me from spending every moment missing him and feeling lonely.

I'm going to use as much time as possible during October to write a couple of novel outlines. I'll decide which one to write by November 1.

Forward Motion is having an outlining marathon from October 16 through 22. Perhaps this will help.
