Watching Hazel
I'm almost 5000 words into Watching Hazel, now in chapter three, and it occurred to me that I'm having very warm feelings towards this novel. Though it is somewhat melancholy in nature, because I'm basing the characters on my family members (my grandmother's family) I'm feeling a lot of comfort and happiness even though the events in the novel are mostly fictional.Of course I have no idea what they did in their day-to-day lives, so I'm making it all up, but the personalities of the people I'm writing about come through. Really, of all the people I'm writing about, I knew only my grandmother and great-grandmother, and I met a few of the sisters... but not enough to know anything about their personalities.
