I'm on the final stretch to a NaNoWriMo win. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day I can pat myself on the back and be done with it. Of course the novel won't be finished but I'm thrilled that I've written something coherent and hopefully marketable after a few well thought out revisions.
On the 25th I wrote 5043 words and today I wrote 6045 words. Quite an improvement! Only 8875 to the magic 50000. I'm now on page 103. I put that marker here so I can find my name easily again tomorrow.
I made it to my goal today despite the reality of being slightly sick. I expect to be totally sick by tomorrow, just in time for Thanksgiving. Good thing I was planning to take the day off anyway.
I have a copy of the first five chapters of River Girl printed out and sitting by my bedside for just such an opportunity. I'm hoping I'm not going to be too sick to read and edit them. I'm trying to prepare them for a critique. My youngest son, Aaron, was sick two days ago and spent the entire day laying on the floor in front of the heater unable to move. He's better now. I'm not.
Today I wrote just over 3500 words - I had to, for NaNoWriMo... because if I don't keep working on it I won't finish by the 30th. Now that I've passed 30,000 words, I expect to be able to get the rest done quickly.
Today I added 4124 words to the novel and exceeded my goal for the day, so I'm happy. My name is now on page 158 of the list. Not too impressive but I'm happy I came up from page 195 a few days ago. I also passed the half-way point. my 25000th word was "two".
Here I go. Another NaNoWriMo day and I'm so far from the finish line. However I expect I can cross the mid-way point today which gives me a bit of excitement.
Goal: 25894 minimum
Also I'm excited because I found my son's band on MySpace yesterday afternoon: Dammit!
I'm ending the day with 22394 words in my NaNoWriMo novel, Primal Harmonies. Now I'm on page 175 . I gained 20 pages in one day, and feel good about it. My total word count for the day: 3707 words.
The novel is progressing as planned. I have a good outline for this one and it's helping keep my writing going. Everything is happening as it should.
I'm very slow with my novel this year due to working on other projects. Now I have only a few days left and must engage in a mad rush to make it to the finish on time.
Today I started at 18617 words and currently am at 20215 words. A gain of 1528 words in 1 and 1/2 hours. Average typing speed for me. So with another hour and a half I should be nearly to my daily goal. However I know on Thanksgiving I probably won't be able to write at all. I need a daily goal.
:: hauling out the calculator ::
According to my calculations, I need to write 3487 words daily in order to finish NaNoWriMo by the 30th of November. That's dividing between nine days, excluding Thanksgiving.
I was on page 195 this morning (word count, descending) and now I'm on page 190 along with novels named Reflections From the Hot Zone, Fairy Tales of Yesterday: The Other Daughter, and Greetings From Death Row.
