Progress on Perfection

I've been writing the first draft of Perfection and am midway through chapter four now - but tonight found more research materials online and decided to make a calendar to organize the plot better. I make my calendars with HTML... like a web page that never leaves my computer. It's a great way to make sure the plot matches the seasons and passage of time.

Our electricity was out for a few days due to excess snow. There's only a foot of snow here, but we're in a river valley and all around us are mountains. Whenever it snows we can count on long power outages.

Here's the scene:

The cat's name is Mocha.

Right before the storm I got my order from Amazon. I got Writing the Breakout Novel by Donald Maass and the workbook that goes with it. I haven't been able to put it down! Great writing book! I also got a used copy of Revision: A Creative Approach to Writing and Rewriting Fiction by David Michael Kaplan. I've read the intro and first chapter and like that one a lot too! At least while the power was out I had a couple good books to read.
