Struggles in Writing

Okay, here we are about ten days later, and I'm still struggling to get through the world building part of this novel project. I am six weeks behind schedule. Thankfully Zette hasn't kicked me out of the project yet! I just get so distracted with other things.

For example I recently re-designed and re-started my children's literature website that I've had sitting idle at Virtual Avenue since 1996. The re-design is logged here. I put a weblog on the first page to record my children's literature reviews and other information. I've got book reviews and sales on the other pages but I want to tone that down a bit and add some good articles. Yeah... but first I have to write them. Anyhow, that's finally fixed.

Then, for another example, yesterday I woke up and first thing - my teenage daughter was fretting about the draft. So I showed her how to look up the bills on a federal website and ended up volunteering to make a draft protest website for her so she can do something about the problem rather than just worry about it. That's at my homeschool site: Protest the Draft.

So really, my days are being eaten up with web projects and not much writing is getting done - and so I'm six weeks behind and rather embarrassed about it. But I have no plans to just give up. Tonight I did assignment 16 and I'm about to read assignment 17. I find it hard to read through these assignments. They have a lot of good information, but my attention span is dismal. Anyhow, back to work, and thanks for reading.
