Hard Copy
I'm so excited - today I went down to the computer center and printed out my first novel, The Scribe of Irohila, to get ready to read, revise and rewrite. It was 131 single spaced pages. When I got it home, my 12 year old daughter read the first page and said, "It sounded like you didn't even write it. It sounded like somebody else did - someone who's a professional." I'm still laughing. That's a compliment, I think.
I'm also excited about another writing project I took on. This is a young adult novel about protective services for children. I've just barely started that project, so there's lots more planning to do. I am already questioning the marketability of it, but will forge ahead because I feel it is a novel that needs to be written.
