The family meeting tonight went off pretty well. At first Aaron resisted participating. Then I said the first thing on the agenda was to hear Aaron's ideas, but since he wasn't there.... we weren't going to consider his ideas. Well, that got to him and he rushed over to tell us all his ideas. He is such a verbal person! Even though he is weak on reading and writing, he has no trouble expressing himself intelligently. Though Cimeron and I had put our ideas in writing, he had no need of it and came up with as many good ideas as anyone.

At the end of the idea-sharing, we had award presentations. I gave the kids some certificates I'd printed using the form at this website. Cimeron got an award for keeping a clean room and Aaron got one for his story, Mountain Bike Racing. Aaron was enthused by that so he ran into his room to retrieve a trophy with a car on it and gave it to me for a long history of safe driving. Then he wanted to give Keith an award for extra effort in feeding and caring for the animals. Cimeron demanded to know where I made the certificates and wants to print one of those out for me too.

Anyhow, the family meeting idea worked great. We are looking forward to next week's episode.
