Unschooling. I always avoided it... but now it is looking better and better. Now that Cimeron and Aaron are old enough to know the basics, I want them to decide for themselves what course of study they pursue. I told them I still want Aaron to read at least 1/2 hour each day, and Cimeron can write an essay each week. She asked how long that should be and I told her it should be as long as her heart desires. She wrote a short essay (very short) on how dumb she thinks people are.

People are so dumb! I mean, people bug me so bad. Like when you ask them something like: "When is math class?" They're like, "I don't know!" Plus they act like, "Oh, I'm better than you," but they aren't. But some people are ok, nice and cool.

What a short essay! ...But seriously, when I write, I just state the issue and when the article is over, I know it by instinct. Length or lack of it has nothing to do with how it should be written. I am hoping that she'll get into this more and develop some good topics.

Cimeron is stuck on the thought of going swimming across the river at the beach today with Monique. I'm getting roped into taking them over there. Mairi and Aaron are coming with us. I guess I'll take my EMT book and study while I'm there. ::sigh:: I don't really want to go but I feel like I need to be there to make sure it is safe.

Aaron is reading from 100 easy lessons again. He is only 15 lessons from the end of the book.

We're starting a family meeting night - every Sunday evening at nine. I made a poster to remind us, forms for writing down ideas and issues to bring up at the meeting, and an agenda. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes.
