Friday was educational! It was a field trip day. I let Cimeron take the Stage into Yreka with two of her friends. It was her first such independent outing. She'll be 13 in just 2 months, and is wanting to spread her wings a bit... but not too fast... I said okay, but insisted on following behind in my car to keep an eye on the girls and make sure they got back on the Stage okay at the end of the day. (The Stage is our local bus system, in case you are wondering.)
So Aaron and I went in the car. By the time we got to the Tree of Heaven river access he was feeling car sick so we stopped and I took this picture of him:
It is 70 miles down a winding river highway to get to Yreka from here. The second picture is of the Klamath River, from where we were standing, on the cliff above the Tree of Heaven river access. Can you see the rainbow? Tree of Heaven has a nice nature walk to show the riparian bird habitat of the Klamath River.
Cimeron and her friends had a great time spending money at Walmart and going out to lunch. Aaron and I did the same, with a trip to the new
skateboard park and a few other errands on the side. He didn't actually get to skate at the skateboard park, but learned a lot about business by talking to the man who runs it!
