Back to homeschool! Yes, I know it was a holiday from public school, but one of the beauties of homeschool is that we can do our educational activities whenever we want to.
Well, today I studied Spanish for an hour with Cimeron... I just love speaking Spanish. We practiced the alphabet and numbers and then calculated the prices of magazines and newspapers ... sort of a confusing exercise for Cimeron. "Cinco revistas cuestan viente y cinco pesos." ...that kind of thing... but with math included. Her pronunciation is getting better already!
Aaron spent all that time - about an hour - reading with Keith. It was a frustrating day because Aaron had a hard time concentrating. Many of the words he had already successfully read had been forgotten.... so I told Keith that sodas and sugar cereals could be the culprit. Cimeron had a cow, worrying that I'd make them eat natural foods... but I think a change in diet would do them good. In retrospect I can also see that our seasonal break in daily reading lessons probably set him back too. He forgot what he had learned, so quickly!
After that, Keith spent nearly an hour reading to them from the veterinarian technician book on various medical topics.
