Homeschool today was good. Keith read to the kids from Dear Mad'am (local history written by a lady who used to live at Ferry Point about her life) and then read from the veterinary tech. book about how to restrain/hold various kinds of animals. Aaron read to him for a while.. now he's back to working with Cimeron on doing an examination on our dog, Bear, using the instructions in her vet. tech. book. Aaron went downtown to visit friends.

Wonderful homeschool day today... Keith read to Cimeron and Aaron from the new veterinary tech. book - they learned some things from the introduction, and started studying the reasons why animal restraint is so important. Cimeron says she learned that if a dog's ears are back they are submissive, but if a llama's or horse's ears are back, that means they are mean. Also if a cat's ears are back that means they're dangerous. But if a dog's ears are forward, that's when they're dangerous. I'm glad she's learning something. We talked with her a bit on options for learning the veterinary technician profession, which I think she'd like to do before she decides whether to become a veterinarian. We're going to look into an online vet. tech. school. Another option might be staying with relatives in the Bay Area where there are vet. tech. schools. So far as I can see, there aren't any programs further north than the one at Marysville, in this state.

Besides that, Aaron did some reading, and Cimeron practiced the Spanish alphabet with me. Keith got a book of Spanish guitar music and is learning to play that... he has just had the book a few hours and already it is sounding very good!

We just got this book for Cimeron. It weighs a lot! It has all aspects of veterinary care covered, as far as I can tell. There's enough information in this book to keep her busy learning about animals for a few years, at least.
